Lupulin Fiasco

I’ve had my tastebuds popped in the past by some ferociously sour saisons, but this heavily-hopped south pacific hybrid from Welsh brewery Tiny Rebel is very easy on the palette.

Known more for their ferociously hoppy beers like In and Around the Mouth and Clwb Trobicana (both of which offer a massive fruity punch in the face), Tiny Rebel have created an interesting hybrid. Satisfying loyal hop hunters and experimentalists alike, Lupulin Fiasco is probably closer to its IPA brothers than a true Belgian sour. A clean, dry yeast profile finishes with a mild sour bite, and all the fruity hops you’d expect to make it part of the family.

It’s a seasonal beer for the summer, and a great jumping-off point for anyone looking to get into sour(ish) beers.

Style: Pale / Saison hybrid
ABV: 6.5%

Appearance:  Hazy, pale gold, white head
Aroma:  Light malt, citrus fruits
Taste: Medium/dry body, slightly sour, stone fruits
